Babysitting

Peyton's dream is to have Leilani all to herself.  So, we asked Aunt Kristi if we could kick her out of the house and just have Peyton there to babysit. 

Today was a school out day for everyone, so Kristi agreed to take the kids out to lunch and let Pey babysit.  Leilani LOVES Peyton, so she didn't  even cry when Kristi and the kids left.  I stayed out of the way most of the time, because while Leilani LOVES Peyton, she doesn't love me quite as much. 

Peyton was THRILLED to have her all to herself.

Peyton tried to eat some melon while she worked...but she had to share.

I just stayed out of the way.  Both Leilani and Peyton were happy about that!

Weekend

We don't have any weekend sports this fall, so we are enjoying it even though it feels odd.

Jim & Peyton helped out at the Special Olympics at Nike on Saturday...and got to meet Misty May, 3 time gold medalist in beach volleyball.  Maddie was VERY jealous.

On Sunday, Peyton and I did the Parkinson's Walk in honor of my dad along with ALL the Acobas.

It was a beautiful walk with perfect weather.

Labor Day Weekend

Last minute we found a house at Cannon Beach for Labor Day weekend.  It was great timing to get out of town and enjoy summer before school starts this week.

We had fun in a hat store with the kids trying on tons of fun hats.

We spent most of our time on the beach, in the early morning exploring low tide, during the sunny afternoons huddled behind the dunes to get out of the wind and the evenings to watch the sunset.

This is my favorite shot of the weekend, just the anticipation of walking up that hill!

As usual, the flowers in Cannon Beach were unbelievably gorgeous.

Always a visit to Bruce's Candy Kitchen.

Maddie found a dead starfish, that we soon discovered was alive and illegal to touch...so back he went into the ocean hopefully just fine.

Lots of fun kites on the breezy, sunny afternoons.  This one was my favorite.

Mini Reunion

We had a mini reunion tonight with my college friends.  Super fun to see everyone--but especially  Casey & Andy and their cute kids.  Can't wait until next time!

4th of July

We invited ourselves over to the Acobas for a 4th of July BBQ, then they ended up keeping the kids overnight!  Dinner was delicious and it was fun to hang out with cousins.    Kids stayed up late watching fireworks!
